Breaking News: JAMB has suspended Law Admission in Kwasu, Redeemers and six other varsity in Nigeria
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board would no longer conduct admissions for the Law programme in eight universities. JAMB spokesman, Fabian Benjamin announced the development in a statement on Wednesday.
The affected universities are Kwara State University, Malete, Ilorin, Kwara State, Bingham University, Karu, Nasarawa State, Redeemers University, Ede, Osun State, Western Delta University, Oghara, Delta State.
👊Others include; Taraba State University, Jalingo, Taraba State, Arthur Jarvis University, Akpabuyo, Cross River State, Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State and the Nigerian Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State.
The statement clarified that the suspension of the Law programme at the Nigerian Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, would last for two academic sessions: specifically, the 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 sessions.
The board explained that the decision was based on suspending law programmes in the institutions by the Council of Legal Education (CLE), Nigeria's highest decision-making body for legal education.
As a result of this suspension, the examination board will not approve any admissions for candidates seeking to enrol in the Law programme at the aforementioned universities for the 2025/2026 academic session,” the statement reads in part.
