Hello Juniors! In this article, I will guide you through everything you need to know about the upcoming the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), popularly known as "Junior WAEC". This examination board is being managed by National Examination Councils (NECO) and the management has made changes to the BECE time table.
In addition to letting you know when the Junior WAEC will start in 2025, I will also give you the updated time table scheduled for the examination.
The Junior WAEC is a national exam taken by students at the end of their Junior Secondary School (JSS3). It is used to assess their knowledge in various subjects and determine if they are ready to proceed to secondary school academic levels.
It’s essential to pass this examination because passing it marks the completion of basic education (junior secondary school JSS) and allows students to choose between academic (senior secondary school SSS) or technical schools in secondary school.
When is Junior WAEC Starting?
The BECE (Junior WAEC) will commence on on Monday, 15th May, 2025. This starting date has been indicated in the exam time table.
Students will start with Arabic Language and French Language. Then follows by Basic.Tech on Tuesday and so on. However, it worth noting that student must pass at least six (6) subjects, including Mathematics and English, to be promoted to senior secondary school.
