JAMB starts deletion, transfer and results certificate upload in 2024

The JAMB’s inter-programme transfer (deletion) offering for 2024 has been opened.
JAMB CAP Admission Portal Resolves

Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has opened its portal for 2024 candidates looking into inter-programme transfer (deletion) and upload of O’Level and A’Level certificates.

The JAMB’s deletion and transfer is a service that allows candidates to delete or change their initial course or school if they decide to pursue a different option after their results are released or if they didn’t meet the cutoff for their first choice.

These services aim to give students more flexibility in managing their admissions and qualifications. It’s also important for those reconsidering their original choices or making corrections to their applications.

What is JAMB Deletion?

Deletion typically refers to the removal of a candidate’s profile or a specific course choice from the JAMB system. It mostly occur if a candidate decides to withdraw his or her application entirely (or switch) entirely to a different program/institution/school.

However, it worth noting that once candidates delete their course or institution of choice, the candidate will not have the option to restore it, so this is usually a final decision.

Like I said earlier, JAMB’s deletion is essential for those reconsidering their original school of choice or making corrections to their course or applications.

What is JAMB’s Transfer

The JAMB’s Transfer process can also be refers to change of institutions or course. It’s enables candidates to change their initial course or institution if they decide to pursue a different option after their results are released or if they didn’t meet the cutoff for their first choice.

Doing so, candidates can secure admission in institutions or programs they are better qualified for or more interested in. For instance, if a candidate’s initial choice doesn’t align with their JAMB score or institution requirements, he/she can transfer to a program where he/she meet the criteria.

JAMB’s Certificate Upload

In addition to deletion and transfer of admission application, JAMB has also opened portal for candidates to upload their 0’Level and A’Level certificates for verification.

Please note that it’s necessary for all candidates with valid admission on JAMP CAPs to upload any of these documents to finalise their admissions. Without uploading your 0’Level/A’Level certificate (not results), candidates, even those with valid admission offers will face delays.

How to Initiate JAMB Deletion/Transfer for 2024

Deletion and Transfer work together on JAMB portal. If you’re transferring your admission application to other institutions, you will need delete the application on your present school of choice before you transfer it to another one.

This is because, ever since JAMB’s Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) was established, candidates are no more getting two or more admission at an academic session.

CAPs is now the central system that regulates every admission in Nigeria and if you’ve already opt-in for one institution admission processes, without deleting it before you transfer to another institution, your transfer will not be effective. You can learn more about why you can’t get two or more admission to different universities again.

However, the admission application deletion and transfer, and uploading of certificates can be done at all JAMB Professional Registration Centres (PRCs), JAMB accredited centres, that are available nationwide.

So, all you need to do is to visit any JAMB acredited centre near you with your registration details. Request JAMB deletion/transfer, or upload services if you're uploading your certificate. However, make sure that your new datas are accurately uploaded, including your certificate’s subject combination.
