Are you one of the many candidates that’s not getting admission in progress on the JAMB Cap but has been offered admission in school portal? Here is a guide that will help you through the situation and get your admission on JAMB Cap. All that you need to do is read this article to the very end and drop your opinion in the comments section.
Why Schools Give Admission But JAMB Did Not
1. You Refused to Upload O Level or A Level Results
This is one of the main reasons you’ve not been offered admission on JAMB Cap. Until you upload your 0Level results, JAMB will keep saying “sorry, you’ve not been given admission yet.”
O Level results/ A Level results are one of the requirements that qualifies candidates for admission on the Jamb cap. If this requirement is missing, I’m afraid to tell you that JAMB will not offer you admission.
Many candidates believe that once their O Level results have been submitted during JAMB registration, there’s no need to re-upload it after the UTME. Well, this is not true! It’s required for all candidates seeking admission to any university in Nigeria to re-upload their O Level/A Level results after the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
So, we beseech all candidates seeking admission to institutions of their choice to re-upload their O Level results on the JAMB cap portal even if they’re gotten admission from their school of choice. Kindly walk into any accredited JAMB CBT Centre to upload your results.
After uploading your results, JAMB will look into the results and process your admission. You may need to check in the next three before you see admitted. You may see “admission in progress,” check back in the next 24 hours to see if you’ve been admitted. Once you see admitted, accept the offer and proceed to print your admission letter.
Keep in mind that without JAMB granting you admission, you won’t be able to print your JAMB Admission Letter. Until you have that letter, your admission is not officially valid. All affected candidates are strongly advised to address this promptly to avoid losing their admission.
2. JAMB has not uploaded the list of admitted candidates for your school of choice on CAPS
This could be another reason another reason you’ve not been offered admission on JAMB Cap Portal. In rare case will this happen and it’s also rare to last for up to a week.
In this situation, you may have to exercise patience and check regularly to see if the situation will change. If the issue is from JAMB, it’ll be resolved within 48 working hours.
3. Your JAMB Score Doesn’t Meet JAMB Requirements
The JAMB cutoff marks for universities is 140. For polytechnics is 120 and colleges is 100. If you don’t meet up these requirements, JAMB will not give you admission even though you go extra miles to get your school of choice to grant your admission.
However, remember that without admission on JAMB Cap, your admission is not officially valid. At the end, your admission maybe forfeited and for those that gain admission via part time application, they may need to do JAMB regularization.
What to Do If Your JAMB Admission Status Remains Unchanged: Next Steps for Candidates
After uploading your results, meeting up with JAMB cutoff marks and you’ve waited for about a week but your JAMB cap is still saying “sorry, you’ve not been given admission yet,” meanwhile your school portal is still offering admission, then you may need to visit your admission office or contact the admission office if there’s means for that on the school website.
The issue could be due to an error made by the school that offered you admission. Your name might have been mistakenly omitted or removed from the final list sent to JAMB. In any case, the school is in the best position to fix the problem. If you’ve done everything and waited long enough with no change, it’s time to visit the school!
